In Iowa if you build a baseball field “They Will Come”. In Indiana if you buy a sailboat “The Ocean Will Come”…

 

How long you have to wait for it is variable depending on the God’s Whims…in this case so far all that has happened is a 40 yard pond…in the middle of corn fields…for 50 miles all around…

Hope springs eternal.

Memory is such a strange phenomenon. Somewhere in our brain there are cells that must make a connection to our soul where I suspect our memories are stored. Anatomists would say the temporal lobe holds these recollections of our past but even as a scientist, MD, I have serious doubts. I find it hard to believe that these happenings, so vivid sometimes, can be stored in simple cells and their connected circuitry.

I have not seen television for three weeks and I have not missed it. Claims of grandiosity filled the screen and started me thinking…

Today is a rest day in Cleveland and I was going to take a break from stories but something odd happened…

I have heard it takes less facial muscle to smile than to frown.

 

Similarly I suspect it is easier to be kind than not..

Sometimes Mother Nature is just overpowering.

My best advice in these times is to relinquish control and let yourself be overwhelmed.

Today we ride along the last 55 miles of the Erie Canal to Lockport NY. The ride is pleasant, the weather good and the riding company excellent. The boats had a little trouble at this spot though…
