As some of you know I have taken up residence in an artists colony where I have a studio for my caligraphy and watercolors. Attached is a yoga studio frequented by slim, fit, young, hot beauties who routinely tilt their noses high whenever I walk by.
As I have started training again for yet another ride I casually wondered if I might gain anything from attending . I shyly approached one of the instructors and asked about a class only to learn that there was indeed a program for me…”Regenerative Yoga”…
Well, that sounded good…”Regeneration”…
That evening I peeked in on the class and to my surprise discovered the astounding results!
I decided to pass and renewed my membership at the YMCA…
I thought last year, after being put in my place by Mother Nature in the middle of the West Texas Desert,
that I was done with the rides but the Spirit of the White Rabbit has risen from the dead and I am back.
Training started seriously 4 weeks ago and I am down three tubs of lard with 7 to go to get buff…about 90 days left before I start in Florida for Maine so the butter should have time to melt away just fine…
This will be a special ride for me as most of the riders are alumni and many were with me on the famous Southern Tier route which led to the “Lost Boys Club”. I look forward to being with my comrades again…nothing is more lonely than a cross country ride with no friends…been there, done that…
I am surprised that this year there are fewer young people on all the rides…I saw this trend a year ago and I hope that the “selfie generation”
has not turned inward so much that they have checked out from activities such as these rides which are not only amazing adventures but also so helpful to those with MS. Perhaps as we ride North we can inspire others to take up the task of aiding the less fortunate while getting them away from contemplating their belly buttons…
Back to training…it has been harder this year…I have come to appreciate “doing nothing” and long naps after a busy morning bringing to life hidden creatures with paints, a canvas, and brushes.
Yet I have a Goal… besides shedding excess weight… I want…”Buns of Steel”… to get me comfortably through the ride.
As usual I researched the best way to get there…
A little messy and I was not sure where to apply it…
Steel plating…
Didn’t fit in the saddle too well…
“Regenerative yoga”…
Yet again a No!!! …especially after he walked by…
Cool Sculpturing…
Froze my touche off and couldn’t feel the seat on my bike…
So I settled on tried and tested methods…dedicated time and hard work…
And I’m getting there…Gave myself a flu shot to the right bun last week…
Any question that my plans are progressing well?
On that note I will leave you with today’s painting…
and will keep you posted as to my progress.
The ride starts 4/21/2020 so prepare yourselves for stories by the Resurrected White Rabbit as he and the Lost Boys take to the road yet again…
So glad you are going to ride again. I just now, happened to be thinking of you, and was lamenting that you had stopped riding. I really miss your blogs. So glad to hear the good news!
